Dear colleagues,
As is tradition, the final official duty of an ESPA Past President is to oversee the election process for the incoming Executive Board. The call for applications opened in November 2025, and we received 13 eligible nominations for 9 available seats. The election took place from November 10th to 20th, 2025, and I am pleased to confirm that the new Executive Board has been successfully elected.
The following members are rotating off the Executive Board:
- Jurgen C. de Graaff, The Netherlands
- Peter Frykholm, Sweden
- Jacob Karlsson, Sweden
- Ivana Budic, Serbia
With the conclusion of his term, the ESPA President (2023–2025), Michael Brackhahn, will now take on the position of ESPA Past President and has fulfilled this responsibility accordingly.
The newly elected Board will assume office at the time of inauguration during the next General Assembly in March.
The incoming Executive Board members are as follows:

- Bonhomme, Fanny – Switzerland (re-elected)
- Clausen, Nicola – Denmark (re-elected)
- Disma, Nicola – Italy
- Frithiof, Robert – Sweden
- Laffargue, Anne – France (re-elected)
- Malagon, Ignacio – The Netherlands (re-elected)
- Najafi, Nadia – Belgium (re-elected)
- Voet, Marieke – The Netherlands
I extend my congratulations and best wishes to all members of the Executive Board. I am confident they will continue to lead our Society with commitment and vision. I would also like to express my gratitude to all ESPA members for their support throughout my time on the Board. Serving our Society has been a rewarding and inspiring experience. Although my term has ended, I will remain dedicated to supporting ESPA to the best of my abilities.
