We invite members of the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesiology to join a research initiative at the University Medical Center Groningen focusing on the ethical dilemma surrounding severe cases of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). The study aims to enhance transparency and informed decision-making, particularly in the choice between surgical intervention and palliative care. By participating in a choice experiment, members can share expertise to better understand factors influencing NEC treatment decisions. Your insights will contribute to developing a decision aid, crucial for physicians and parents facing this complex choice, ensuring comprehensive and relevant research findings. We urge your participation for enriched perspectives and improved outcomes for infants and families dealing with NEC.
