Belgian Comic Strip Center
(7 minute walk from Le Plaza Hotel)

The Belgian Comic Strip Center, a true temple dedicated to comic strip art, is also an undisputed masterpiece of the Art Nouveau. Located in the heart of Brussels in one of its oldest districts, this majestic Art Nouveau building was created by Victor Horta in 1906. It was first opened to the public on October 6th 1989. In no time this impressive museum became one of the main attractions of Brussels.

With more than 700 comic strip authors, Belgium has more comic strip artists per square kilometre than any other country in the world. It is here that the comic strip has grown from a popular medium into an art in its own right. The Belgian Comic Strip Center assembles anything that deals with European comics, from its prestigious beginnings to its latest developments. Every year more than 200.000 visitors come here to explore  4.200 m² of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
